Poetry for the Masses Contest

Class,

You should consider entering the following contest. Let me know if you would like me to look over anything.

Call for submissions:

Poetry for the Masses is calling for submissions for its upcoming reading year. Poetry for the Masses is a public art project started in 2005 by Chandra Dickson and Craig Blais to bring poetry out of the academia and back to the mainstream. After a three year hiatus PFTM will resume publishing with the first issue appearing in April of 09. Four issues will be published for National Poetry Month, and one issue a month afterwards. Every issue features five to six poems from new and established poets in a broadside format, and these broadsides will be place in pubic areas where poetry is not usually found in an effort to reach out to those who would normally not read or even think deeply about poetry.

We are looking for poetry that is not only high quality, but is also accessible to the public at large. Deadline for the April issues is Monday, February 16th, 2009, but submissions will be read year round. Payment is 25 copies. Please send submissions of three to five poems (we prefer poetry under 40 lines) to poetry4themasses@gmail.com as word or rtf attachment.

Thank you,
Chandra E.A. Dickson
